Kylie Cosmetics: Koko Kollection

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen! Today I shall be reviewing the oh so lovely Koko Kollection by Kylie Cosmetics!

Overview

The Koko Kollection is a collaboration project between Kylie Jenner of Kylie Cosmetics and Khloe Kardashian. This is the first ever collaboration Kylie Cosmetics has ever done and hopefully is the beginning of many more wonderful collabs to come! This was a limited collection and retailed for $40 for 4 lipsticks! Such an amazing prices it was too good to pass up. Not to mention free shipping! Now even though it is limited edition Kylie has teased another release soon to come so keep your eyes open friends!

The Colors

The color names are too cute Khlo$, Okurr, Gorg and Damn Gina. The first three are are matte liquid lipsticks and the last is a gloss. What I really love about this collection is that you get a bunch of different colors that anyone can pull off and that you can wear on a daily basis or on a hot night out!

Color Breakdown

KHLO$:
This is such a gorgeous peachy tone nude lipstick. If I am honest I thought this one would be my least favorite. I don't really own any nude lipsticks. I always thought they would look bad on me or wash me out. I was SORELY mistaken my friends. KHLO$ is amazing! It was the first one I decided to try on and I instantly fell in love. This is such a perfect every day color I think it is going to be my new number one! It just goes with everything! Every outfit and eye look I love it!

OKURRR:
This color is a super-fab-bright-ass-in-your-face pink! It is one of those lipsticks that you put on and feel on top of the world! You know when you just find that perfect outfit or your eyebrows are on point and you feel so confident? Well put on OKURRR and you can conquer anything! This lipsticks says "Hello world! This is me and I can do anything!"

GORG:
This lovely lippie is a super dark crushed berry. This is such a great color for fall. This color, if I may be so bold, is the epitome of the perfect fall lip. It is dark, sultry and all around exactly as it's name suggests, GORG!

DAMN GINA:
This is the one gloss included in the collection. I have never tried any of the glosses from Kylie Cosmetics before and was pleasantly surprised. It is so lovely! It is a light pinky, shimmer nude gloss. I personally think it looks wonderful on its own. It makes your lips look full and luscious It is very sheer so if you want your lips to pop a little more you could fill your lips with lip liner of any color and add this gloss on top and it would be equally as stunning!

PROS & CONS

Now down to the nitty gritty! I love all these colors and over all the collection is fabulous but I am here to give you my honest review and by god that is what I shall do!

Lets start with the Pros:

  • The smell is awesome! all the lipsticks have a sweet vanilla smell almost like vanilla icing and I am in love with that! One it dries down the smell goes away.
  • Full pigment! The pigment is amazing and is full coverage, one layer is all you need
  • Stays all day! I wore Khlo$ for about 6 hours, I talked my boyfriend's ear off, ate a sub, drank coffee and sipped on a soda and the color stayed with no transfer.
  • Dries down 100% and is super lightweight on the lips
Now for the dreaded Cons:
  • Slightly drying. Now this might be a more personal con but a con nonetheless. I have very dry lips and if it's a particularly bad lip day this lipstick can make my lips even more dry and it looks pretty noticeable
  •  Can get slightly clumpy on the corners of the mouth
  • Only use one layer, I find if you add layers it gets too thick and heavy on the lips and creates clumping
  • While all the colors are super pigmented GORG can be a bit streaky and the darker the color it does stain your lips
Now These cons may not be true for everyone and they are just personal cons from my experience so if you don't mind layering and wearing a heavier lip then don't worry about it! Same goes for staining the lips.

OVER ALL

Overall I still give this Koko Kollection 5 stars! I think the Pros outweigh the cons in my book and the price can NOT be beat for the quality and name.
  • Amazing price
  • Amazing pigment
  • Packaging is luxurious
  • Colors are diverse and beautiful

Jeffree Star Cosmetics: Beauty Killer

Welcome back ladies and gents! On the menu for today is a tasty treat, Jeffree Star Cosmetics deliciousness! I will be giving a review on Jeffree Stars first ever eyeshadow palette: The Beauty Killer Palette

Jeffree Star Cosmetics: The Beauty Killer Palette

The Beauty Killer palette was released May 25th 2016 and retails for $45.00 and as Jeffree Star has stated on his website and on various social media all his products and vegan and cruelty free! Yay! Now one of the things that really sucked me in was the pan size of each shade and the diverse shade selection!

There is a color selection for everyone whether you like to stay more neutral or like to try adventurous colors like bright purples, pinks and blue! The shade names from left to right (top row) Star Power, Princess, Violence, Rich Bitch and Courtney, (bottom row) Expensive, Confession, Vanity, China White and Black Rainbow.

Five of the colors are matte (Star Power, Courtney, Vanity, China White and Black Rainbow) and Four of them have a true shimmer and sparkle (Princess, Violence, Rich Bitch, Expensive and Confession)!

Let's start with talking about the matte colors. Star Power... YOU GUYS! If you love pink this color is for you. It is definitely the MOST pigmented true pink color I have ever had the honor to smear on my face. It is beautiful and I don't think I will ever find a pink shadow that will capture my heart like this baby does. Courtney is the 5th color in the palette and is the most perfect transition color. I use this color practically every day in the crease, I have officially hit the pan a month ago. It's just so buttery and blendable and looks great with most any color especially with all the fall makeup looks upon us. It even looks great on its own all over the lid, a little shimmer in the inner corner, pop some lashes on and you got a subtle but stunning and EASY everyday look to wear to work or school. Vanity is a dark eggplant color, not too purpley but true dark eggplant. Is that a word? Purpley? If not I am making it one! I normally use this color on the outer corner to make a smokey look. I admit I am too afraid to plaster a dark color like this all over my lid but I have seen it done and if you can pull it off kudos to you! China White is such a true white. In the picture above it is hard to see because I myself am whiter than casper the friendly ghost but maybe that in itself is proof enough that this is really the BEST white shadow. I normally put this color all over my lid to help with blending and is another color I have hit the pan on already. Lastly is Black Rainbow, now I consider this color to be matte because it doesn't have a shimmer per say but it does has super cute rainbow sparkles in it but that actual black shadow itself is matte. This is another color I like to put on the outer corner to darken up an eyelook for a night out rockin' a smokey eye.

Now onto the shimmer shades. Vanity is a very subtle purple shimmer, the purple is subtle the shimmer is WOW. I love this color on the inner corner or in the middle of the lid to make your eyes pop! I use this shade so much and am almost to the pan! Confession is stunning purple shimmer. Purple is number two on my favorite shadow colors so this is a favorite in my book and it is very buildable. Rich Bitch is next and unfortunately this is probably my least favorite color in the palette. I love gold as much as the next girl but everytime I use this color it comes out a bit patchy and doesn't quite give me that Midas touch that I am looking for. I have found that putting a gold cream shadow base and putting Rich Bitch over it with a finger instead of a brush gives me the best results. Expensive is next on the list, this color is a mermaid-esque blue! Shimmery and flattering! I personally have not used this color much but only because I feel like I have trouble pulling off blue shadow but I have seen plenty of instagram babes creating stunning blue looks with this color. Lastly is the shade Confession which is another favorite of mine. It is a wonderful pinky burgundy shade absolutely perfect for fall! In my previous post I reviewed Kylie Jenner's Burgundy Palette and Dubai is very similar to Confession.

This palette is puppy approved!

Over all I give this palette 5 stars!

  • The whole palette is very versatile and can be used by everyone
  • The colors get a check for extremely buttery, blendable and buildable
  • Vegan friendly and cruelty free, yay!
  • The price doesn't break the bank and the pan sizes are HUGE!
  • Rich Bitch is a teensy bit finicky but still so bold

Kylie Cosmetics: The Burgundy Palette

Hello fellow beauty lovers and welcome to your soon to be #1 favorite beauty blog to get the inside scoop on the latest and greatest beauty and makeup products! I'm just a small town girl dedicated to giving you, my fellow gurus, my honest review and opinions on all those trendy, coveted products your favorite stars and YouTubers are raving about. I am a consumer (just like you) I am also a broke bitch (just like you!) and I am here to help you determine if that brand new lippie, eye shadow palette or contour kit is a yes or no, yay or nay, what to pick up and what to put the hell back down!

Now lets get started!

KYLIE COSMETICS: THE BURGUNDY PALETTE

Unless you have been living under a rock you have all heard of Kylie Cosmetics. She recently put out an eyeshadow palette called the Burgundy Palette. This is the second eyeshadow palette put out by her brand and I decided I had to have it! Who doesn't love those warm and beautiful burgundy and browns for the fall time. STUNNING! So of course this pretty little number caught my eye.

The Burgundy Palette is sold exclusively on kyliecosmetics.com and retails for $42.00 which is a great price for high end makeup. If you walk into Sephora you would be hard pressed to find a high quality eyeshadow palette for such a good price. Now you do have to take into consideration shipping costs. When all was said and done it came out to $50.95 BUT if you are worried about shipping costs Kylie does a fair amount of limited time free shipping over x amount of money promotions.

This palette consists of 9 highly pigmented shades, 4 shimmer and 5 matte.

What I love about these shadows is that they are super buttery, buildable and blendable! You can use a fluffy brush in the crease to create a light transition color or a packing brush to really build up that pigment.

Bottom to top: Naked, Beach, Penny, LA, Burgundy, Dubai, Brick, New York and Almond

Naked is such a beautiful shimmer for the inner corner and you can even use some glitter primer/ glue for an extra pop. I love Beach and Penny as a transition color in the crease, using a fluffy blending brush gets that perfect transition effect. Almond is stunning in the outer corner for a smokey eye and super buildable. All of the colors are super soft and over all I am very impressed with the quality!

Now I really don't have anything too shabby to say about this product! For the most part its a hit in my book. I do have to say that I wish there was a mirror built in, I know many others have spoken out about that detail and as a result future palettes will have a mirror. Yay! I know its not a big deal to all but if you're like me you enjoy being able to do some makeup on the go with the built in mirror. Also, because I am a freak I like to hold up my palette mirror to my face suuuper close while I do my eyeshadow for precision. Any other perfectionists out there? Let me hear ya holla!

I give the Burgundy Palette a 4.5 out of 5 stars in my book.

-0.5 Star for no mirror, for the price you should get a mirror but besides that
- The quality is fabulous.
- The price point does not break the bank.
- The pigment is bomb diggity.
- The fallout is manageable, nothing crazy and better than other palettes I have.
& it gets a check mark in the Three B's (Buttery, Buildable and Blendable)

THE BURGUNDY PALETTE: YAY!
